What is the course about?
This course provides students with an awareness of autism, covering what is meant by autism and working with individuals with autism.

By completing the course, you will develop knowledge which would support progression to further qualifications and build your knowledge of autism.
You will be taught by qualified teachers who have experience working with children and adults in the health or early years sector.
What will I learn?
You will cover the following topics:
- Understanding autism
- Understand some of the characteristics that may present in individuals with autism
- Common misconceptions of autism
What will the course lead on to?
Through achieving this course, students will develop knowledge which would support progression to further qualifications and develop skills needed to gain employment in the health and social care or education sectors.
Students could progress to:
- Level 1 Certificate in Understanding Autism
- Health and social care qualifications
