What is the course about?
The advanced studio-based kiln formed glass course is for anyone who has some experience with glass and wishes to continue their journey of personal development with a creative material.
Why should I choose the course?
This is an advanced course for people who want to explore kiln formed glass making techniques in greater depth.
What will I learn?
During the course you will learn through demonstrations and practical making using hand-built techniques which include:
- Glass casting
- Slump Mould making
- Glass fusing
- Glass slumping
- Glass cutting techniques
- Creative design skills
What will the course lead on to?
On completion of this course you may be interested in studying another of our many leisure, or progress onto our accredited Level 1 Ceramics course.
What support is available?
We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.

Why should I choose to study the course at Warrington & Vale Royal College?
This course will be delivered by our applied arts expert who has a breath of industrial and teaching experience within the specialist area of glass. The course will run within our fully equipped 3D studios, giving you everything you need to continue your journey into the world of glass.
What are the entry requirements?
You must have completed the Introduction and Next Step in Kiln Formed Glass’ courses.
What are my funding options?

Are there any additional costs associated with the course?
You will also need to provide an apron and have closed footwear.
