Supporting our local community

Our links with local organisations provide students with valuable volunteering and fundraising opportunities.

Fundraising

At college there are lots of opportunities to join in and raise money for local and national charities that the college is proud to support.

Staff and students raise money for various campaigns and charities including Breast Cancer Now's 'Wear It Pink', Claire House Children's Hospice, Children in Need, Comic Relief, and Warrington Animal Welfare.

We are also proud to have a partnership with St. Rocco's Hospice, which creates opportunities for our students to be involved in live projects. For instance, our hair and media make-up students attended St Rocco's glitzy annual fundraiser, 'Fashion, Food and Fizz Extravaganza', and unleashed their talents on the event's runway models!

We have also begun working closely with Warrington Youth Club, who are a provider of National Citizen Service (NCS). NCS is a programme for students aged 16-17 and involves team-building, confidence building, and working with the community.

The college also has close links with The Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation. The Foundation provides life-changing opportunities through sport, education, health and the arts, which enrich, inspire and celebrate the local community. During their time at college, our sport students provide voluntary support to the Foundation.

Bag2 School 20171

Encouraging sustainability in our community

As part of our sustainability efforts, throughout the year we take part in the Bag2School campaign where we encourage staff and students to donate unwanted clothes. So far we have raised £195 by taking part in the Bag2School campaign which has been donated to support our college's food bank, as well as contribute to sustainability projects at the college. Moreover, during Sustainability Week 2023, we held a clothes and book sale throughout lunchtime which resulted in just over £140 raised for our college's food bank.

Community Fun Day

On 8th July 2023 we hosted our first ever Community Fun Day where we raised just over £1000 for St Rocco's Hospice. The event was a huge success and we were joined by over twenty exhibitors from highly esteemed organisations such as the Royal Air Force, the Royal Navy, Cheshire Police, Cheshire Fire and Rescue, and Kinaxia Logistics, as well as members of the local community to raise the most amount of money possible for a great cause.

Save the date for our next Community Fun Day, 6th July 2024. We can't wait to welcome all of you to 2024's bigger and better event.
