The Academy hair and beauty salon at Warrington & Vale Royal College celebrated the 100th birthday of Mrs Margaret Isherwood last Friday. Mrs Isherwood was treated to a fresh perm from Level 3 Hairdressing student Ana Maria Burlacu and was presented with a bouquet of flowers, a cake and a voucher for a meal for two at the college’s award-winning college restaurant, Buckley’s.
Mrs Isherwood joined the college as an adult student in 2002 and has since studied a range of courses including Holistic Therapies and Reflexology. Speaking on her time as a student at the college, Mrs Isherwood commented: “People would say I should bring my bed to The Academy, because I was here all the time! I’ve done all sorts of courses and learnt so many things – aromatherapy, hot stone massage, Hopi ear candling and facials.”
Now a regular client, Mrs Isherwood says the staff and students at The Academy simply spoil her; “everyone is just so welcoming, especially the lovely ladies on reception.”
The Academy offer a wide range of treatments at fantastic prices for those looking to unwind and be pampered. Due to demand, the salon is now open until 6pm on Fridays. For more information and to book an appointment, call 01925 494336 or visit their web page, here.
