Meet our Brickwork tutor, Andrew Atkin:

Meet our students

Meet current brickwork student Connor EvansConnor Evans finds the tutors to be incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, leading by example with their professional experience of the trade.

“They are not scared to pick up a trowel and get stuck in to help you rather than just telling you. The tutors will prepare you for working on a construction site and offer advice and guidance on securing an apprenticeship if that is what you want.”

Connor’s dream is to set up his own family run construction company with his brother – he is even hoping that his younger brother will follow the family tradition by enrolling on this course!

Meet our alumni

One of the college’s greatest success stories is previous student Ashley Terron who took home the top prize for bricklaying at the global Worldskills competition in 2013, the “Olympics” of vocational training. Ashley, who works as an Area Construction Manager for Redrow Homes, is now an assistant training manager for Worldskills UK. He was also named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List of 2014 and awarded The British Empire Medal for ‘Service to Skills’.
