Whether you’re interested in becoming a mechanical engineer, building cars, working in the aerospace or renewable energy sector, our courses will help to shape you as an engineer.

In September 2020 we launched our brand new AMET Centre (Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Training) at our Winsford campus, and in September 2021 we will also be launching an AMET Centre at our Warrington campus. These new centres of excellence will serve the region as specialist centres for materials measurement, testing and analysis and enhance the provision of digital and manufacturing skills training across Cheshire and Warrington. The demand for qualified engineers has never been higher and it’s estimated that 1.9m jobs will become available in this sector over the next five years.

Our engineering department has fantastic links with the engineering and science sector in the North West.  You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills with industry experienced staff. You will find yourself learning in stimulating workshops that are fully equipped with industry standard equipment.

Scientists work to improve people’s lives, commercial enterprises and develop our knowledge and understanding of people, nature, the world and the universe.

Careers in science are genuinely some of the most exciting, interesting and significant out there. Scientific careers in research and development are literally limitless; new things can always be discovered and things can always be improved. You will explore modules in Biology, Chemistry and Physics in our dedicated science laboratories, having access to state of the art equipment.

Student Success

Euan will complete his Level 3 Applied Science course this year and he is on track to achieve the highest possible grades of DDD*, which are equivalent to 3 A* at A-level. He has secured an offer to study BSc Biotechnology at Edge Hill University.

He believes the course was instrumental to his goal of going to university, “Applied Science has provided me with practical skills and applications of Biology and Chemistry in the real world, which is more than enough to prepare me for my next steps in education.”
