Warrington & Vale Royal College student Hannah Ruddle has received a fantastic offer from Liverpool Hope University to study Social Work. Hannah, former pupil of The Winsford Academy, has excelled throughout her Level 3 Health & Social Care course, and is looking forward to further developing the skills she has gained at college.
As part of her course, at the college’s Winsford campus, Hannah completed several work placements which allowed her to build up a wealth of experience in preparation for a future career within the Health & Social Care field. Hannah feels her tutor Alison Hetherington also helped her prepare for life after college, stating that; “my tutor has given me an insight into the work environment.” During her time at the college, Hannah appreciated the high level of support she received, saying; “I strongly believe the best aspect of studying at this college is the fact no matter what, there is support and guidance available.”
Alison Hetherington, Health & Social Care Curriculum Manager, has taught Hannah for the past two years and is incredibly proud of what she has achieved. Alison describes Hannah as extremely determined and dedicated; “Hannah has shown her dedication to her career by working within the childcare field in a local setting and in a setting which cares for adults and young people with particular needs.” Alison also says Hannah was a pleasure to teach and admires how supportive and empathetic she was to her fellow students during her time at college. Alison describes Hannah as a “true inspiration to others” and is looking forward to hearing all about her experiences at university.
