Health & Social Care Success- Meet Lauren Emmett

Meet Lauren Emmett! Level 3 Health & Social Care student Lauren Emmett chose to study at at the college's Winsford campus due to its convenient location and "friendly atmosphere." Former Winsford Academy student Lauren thoroughly enjoys her course, saying, "The best aspect of studying at Warrington & Vale Royal College is that the tutors and all the other staff are always there whether it be for careers, mental health or coursework. All staff want you to reach your full potential and they use different ways to teach which keeps the course exciting." Lauren feels she has learned a great deal throughout her course, including the various ways to work with others and keep them safe. Lauren has also had the opportunity to take part in a range of work placements, providing her with valuable industry experience. This year, Lauren will be progressing onto Edge Hill University to study Primary Early Years Education with QTS. Lauren chose to apply for this course after being inspired by her placements at college; "I chose to study this course after attending placement at a college for individuals with special educational needs, which made me realise what I wanted to do. My future career plans are to become a qualified and successful primary and early years teacher." Lauren credits her college tutors with helping her prepare for the next stage of her education. She says, "Both of my tutors have been exceptional with guiding and supporting me through the course especially when applying to university."
