Warrington & Vale Royal College students to take part in My Poppy Run 2020
Warrington & Vale Royal College‚ Sport and Public Services students are proud to be taking part in My Poppy Run 2020, a national fundraising event run by The Royal British Legion. The proceeds raised by this event will help The Royal British Legion to continue their incredible work. Their Poppy Appeal, originally founded to assist those in need following a national crisis, now raises funds to help those who are homeless, isolated, or facing financial difficulty. The Royal British Legion has been providing life-changing support to members of the Armed Forces and their families for almost 100 years. The students, led by Public Services tutor Andy Bramhall, will be running on Monday 30th November at Warrington‚ Orford Park, joining forces with a virtual community of fellow runners across the country. They will be given allocated running times and will run or walk around the park for either 30 or 60 minutes, with each student aiming to reach a certain number of steps or cover a certain distance during the event. Matt Bold, the college‚ Curriculum Manager for Sport and Public Services, says: As a college we are incredibly proud that our students are taking part in this national event and contributing to such a worthwhile cause. The students are all really looking forward to the run and being part of something so important. Click here to find out more about My Poppy Run 2020 and the work of The Royal British Legion.
