Amazing Alumni- Hannah Ruddle

Level 3 Health & Social Care student Hannah Ruddle, who completed her course with us this year, has now progressed onto Liverpool Hope University to study Social Work. Former Winsford Academy student Hannah chose to pursue Social Work as she has "always wanted to work with those who need support and guidance." Hannah says that, following an appointment with the college's Careers Team, she realised that she wanted to make a real difference and decided that Social Work was her dream career. Hannah feels that her Health & Social Care course helped prepare her for life at university, saying, "Thework I've previously done in college such as communication and psychology has enabled me to complete work in university." Despite starting university in the exceptional circumstances of this year, Hannah has settled in well and has already covered a range of fascinating topics such as social justice and poverty in society. She says that, despite being hard work, university is definitely worth the effort and "opens up a lot of opportunities in life, such as a great career, building friendships for life, learning about new things, social life, and sightseeing." Following her degree, Hannah intends to undertake an MA in Social Work and become a social worker for the homeless. When asked what she would advise students who aspire to go to university, Hannah says, "The advice I would give to current college students is to keep going and hard work really does pay off. No dream is too small. Also, don't leave any work until the last minute!" To find out more about our Health & Social Care courses and where they could lead you, click here.
