Your course includes plenty of trips and visits, many of them based around sporting and outdoor pursuits. There will also be visits to various sports specialist universities such as Edge Hill, Liverpool John Moores and UCLAN to see their facilities and to help you prepare for moving on to university.

Previous students have visited Low Mill Outdoor Centre in the Yorkshire Dales and completed their Duke of Edinburgh Award. We also take students on educational trips to places such as The Imperial War Museum, Lea Green (conflict management training with the police), Whitegate Way and even to an Army Reserves unit where students can take on challenges similar to the Army selection process.

We work closely in collaboration with Live Wire, Warrington Wolves Foundation and Warrington Schools Sports Partnership to deliver a programme of sporting events for primary schools in the local area. Studying with us allows you to work with a range of schools, to develop your coaching and leadership skills, as well as sport session development and delivery.

You will complete 35 hours of work experience per year of the course, in areas such as sports coaching, sports leadership and fitness testing. You can also complete a range of national governing body coaching and officiating courses – including the FA Level 1 in Officiating Football, as well as studying additional modules such as the UK Anti-Doping accreditation.

Representatives from the Army, RAF, Navy, Police, Fire Service and NHS regularly visit to provide information and support on recruitment, training and assessment processes. You will also hear from past students, some with over 10 years’ experience in their field, who will be happy to share their knowledge and advice with you.
