Throughout your course you will experience a range of inspiring trips, both in the UK and overseas. Previous trips have included Berlin, New York and Barcelona, to see the works of internationally celebrated artists with your own eyes. You will also visit many galleries such as The Tate, Manchester City Art Gallery, Liverpool Walker, Manchester’s Whitworth Gallery and The Natural History Museum, to get your creative juices flowing.

The college has excellent links with various practising artists as well as our own artist-in-residence. As part of your course, you will complete a work placement in a field of your choice to strengthen your skills and broaden your experience. Past students have carried out their placements in exciting roles at art galleries such as Warrington Museum & Art Gallery, and even had the opportunity to display their practical skills at venues such as Blakemere Craft Centre.

Our students have also taken on live briefs from Mind, the mental health charity – an organisation we closely collaborate with. Others have created amazing street scene murals for Cheshire Police at their Winsford riot training HQ. Students are also now working with Culture Warrington on projects for the Rugby World Cup. These exciting and varied work placements are a great chance to begin building connections and to let your talent shine.

Throughout your course you will participate in fascinating guest lecture workshops with inspiring artists such as Julie Fewster, a ceramicist designer who has travelled the world, and Ben Walters, who set up a successful company in China constructing specialist glass facilities.
